Under Construction

Well, I'm under construction...

Basically, I am digging myself out of a mud hole. I thought hey why not fool around with the template in the html thing-a-ma-jig? Can't be that hard. Yeah, well oops. Thanks to some quick thinking and some really cool tricks by Jay Morr, its finally getting somewhere. The new format is wider and fills out the screen but the archived posts will be altered a bit and not in original aliment.... not sure how I feel about that but change is good so well see. I know enough about websites to download photos and type some words. It been fun figuring out the many ways of not how to do things. By process of elimination and over time, OK a long time, I have figured out enough to post and haven't crashed my computer... yet.

Out of curiosity I am interested in your opinion ( as if anyone actually reads this)... do you like the new format for the better or worse?

Hi Brian,

It's a double edged sword. The wider format lets you post bigger pictures but the default width from blogger is much easier to read. They actually put a lot of thought into the default width. Your site, your call. I have also done it both ways. Right now I have the restricted width.

Hey John,

Thanks for your comments! I really appreciate your thoughts. I am looking for smooth and easy reading (other than grammar.. haha) and browsing, well see I suppose. Still working on it.

Thanks again!

BG,

My $0.02 - I like the smaller width because I like leaving my bookmarks open on the left side of my screen. So now I have to scroll to the right to read everything over on that side. I can close and open my bookmarks with ctrl-b, so it's not that big of deal. But I'm lazy ;)

hmmm... I agree with john and stalker. the restrict format is much easy to read and looks a bit tidy. But I do love the big photo format though. BG, I was messing around with the photo format yesterday. (if your concern is the photo size). Vlad told me he add the photos to photobucket first and use the html code there to post photos into blogger. I found you can display a pretty large photos, the width could be up to 400 pix and the height is unlimited... I tried 800pix and it works. I guess the blogger only restrict the width... at least my setting is like this...

Hey guys,

I really appreciate your comments, thoughts and ideas. I'm going with the large format for now... who knows I might change it back at some point. Thanks again for the feedback. I get so locked in my zone that sometimes I need a second and third opinion ; )
